What Is Sound Meditation & What Does It Do?

Sound Meditation is a method of self-care that promotes deep relaxation. In my sessions I play crystal singing bowls, gongs and wind chimes to create soundscapes for meditation, relaxation and daydreaming that often inspires deep rest, and an expanded awareness.

The frequencies and vibrations emitted from the instruments can ease brain activity into a calm state. It’s very similar to how your favorite music shifts your focus from day- to-day life to recreation.

Sound waves have a pleasurable physical massage-like effect on the body as well. The experience has been described as sounds and frequencies washing over your head, torso, arms, legs, and feet. A “sound bath” much like a water bath is something you relax your whole mind and body into, rather than something you just listen to.

My clients find these sessions to be refreshing and nourishing, enjoyed comfortably seated or lying down.

* Sound meditation and sound baths are not replacements for medical care. They are complimentary support for well being.

Benefits attributed to Sound Meditation & Meditation

* Can activate the parasympathetic nervous system to relax, promoting stress and anxiety reduction, which helps with deeper sleep.

* Can improve focus, as meditation is an excellent tool for learning self discipline.

* Can promote deep relaxation through an alternation of brain waves.

* Can increase creativity, intuition, and motivation.

ABOUT

IMG_6283.jpg

Welcome…

My name is Paula, and my aim is to support you in deeper relaxation, better sleep and to share tools for self regulating tensions and managing anxiety for better coping skills with the stresses of modern life.

My love of nature, and the tranquility it offers has been a well I return to time and time again, to find balance and grounding in my life.

The sounds of nature always so soothing and timeless, have inspired me to learn a skill set, and keep studying to facilitate a tranquil environment where clients can restore, be nurtured and feel replenished even indoors in an Urban environment.

I’ve explored many modalities, studied with ground breaking teachers and musicians who are elevating, and expanding on historic modalities in sound, breath work, vocalizing, yoga, meditation and Sufi whirling.

These studies, and my desire to facilitate tranquility are what inspire me to create soundscapes for meditation, relaxation and daydreaming.

Their Words

I find it more interesting for recipients of the Sound Meditations and One-On-One Sessions that I offer to express in their own words what experience was for them, rather than sharing my projections as a practitioner.

“I’ve spoken about you so many times over the last few weeks- so much connection to sound therapy/baths and you always come to mind!

I actually had a really terrible experience of a sound bath recently, and assured many ‘first timers’ to please try it again with you!! ”.

"I wanted to say thank you for your words and session, that a week later still resonates through me ... I'm using it as a meditative well or pool that I can go back to and remain calm when I need to.”

“It was work at such a high vibrational level that it had exceptional healing quality” …

“ Paula offered us a 'sound ceremony'. The result was quite definitely a 'peak experience' for all those who were lucky enough to be there.

'I was completely bowled over by the beauty, gentleness and power of your sound ceremony, and continue to feel tangible benefits whenever I tune into the memory again - I feel that this will continue for all of us who were lucky enough to experience it.

I woke up several times during the night that followed and found myself smiling - 'turning to gold' indeed! Thank you so much again........

Please let me know whenever there might be an opportunity to experience it again in Europe and I'll do my best to get there!

I hope very much that you may have an opportunity to present at a Soul-voyagers retreat one day”

“ the sound meditation gave me the opportunity to dream bigger.” …

“It was wonderful to meet you and attend your sound bath meditation in Santa Monica tonight.

I've been doing a lot of self-care, work on myself and deep digging over the past year and a half. I've been meditating on my own, and I feel as though I'm making strides in my own self-discovery.

What your sound bath meditation gave me was the opportunity to dream bigger. It allowed me to go deeper than usual and give myself an unfettered, tactile view of where I see myself in 5-10-15 years. It gave me a lot of clarity when I feel like I'm sometimes peering into my future with fogged-up goggles.

I've spent a lot of this year working really hard and maybe stretching myself a little too thin, and your sound bath meditation gave me a lot of focus that I plan on utilizing from tonight on forward. I could see a bigger picture for the first time maybe ever(?). I loved it.”
