Yayoi Kusama : Visionary

A love of Polka Dots or are they really atoms?

Yayoi Kusama has always seen the world differently, she sees the minutia of all that is around her.

I believe her art to be a visual expression of how she sees the environment around her, much like the art of Van Gough and the Huichol Indians shows the energy they see, and how everything is interconnected.

We are all one when it comes to atoms, there is no separation as we magnify all that we and everything around us are made of.

I took my 91 year old auntie Brita to see Yayoi’s exhibition at Moderna Museet in Stockholm, and the minute we walked into the first gallery she expounded “These are all giant portraits of viruses”. Brita had been a lab technician studying viruses in one part of her rich and long life.

I highly recommend the documentary Kusama | Infinity “The life and art of Yayoi Kusama
